Infusion/Nursing
Chemotherapy is treatment that uses specific medications to kill cancer cells. Treatments can consist of using a single chemotherapy drug or a combination of drugs administered in cycles. Your physician will discuss treatment options and decide which treatment method is best for you. Your medications will be administered by one of our caring and experienced Oncology RN’s in one of our two comfortable infusion areas (Suites 294 and 196). Our nurses are trained to answer your questions, closely monitor, and guide you through your infusion treatment.
Our goal is to make each visit to our facility as comfortable as possible. We offer recliner chairs in all of our private and semi-private rooms for treatment. These room options are available based on need, space and preferences. There are rooms with big picture windows and some rooms with TVs. We provide blankets and a pillow to our patients or, if you prefer, you are welcome to bring these personal items from home.
Because we recognize that support and encouragement are essential to your care, we encourage you to bring someone with you. We ask that you limit the number to one to allow other patients the same courtesy. Due to chemotherapy being administered, children are not permitted in the treatment area.
Cancer Care Associates of York’s Nursing Team is committed to providing oncology nursing care with compassion, dignity and excellence.
This dedicated team consists of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Medical Assistants.
Our RN’s are encouraged to be certified in the specialty of oncology nursing, OCN. We are proud that over half of our RN’s eligible for oncology certification continue to maintain their oncology certification (OCN) as well as a certified Palliative Care nurse. Our team has over 40 years of experience in oncology nursing. To continue our excellence in quality patient care, we have a clinical leadership team who meets frequently to review new treatments, policies, procedures and discuss general nursing operations, as well as multiple monthly meetings with nursing staff for communication and education.
